Energy Compass

An open-source Home Assistant integration that plans battery and inverter operation against dynamic prices and PV forecasts — it runs live in a co-founder's home. Plus a household web app, energycompass.pl.

Energy Compass, the energycompass.pl home page: the headline “Sprawdź, ile przepłacasz za prąd” (Check how much you overpay for electricity) and a dial of G12 tariff zones over the day.
energycompass.pl — the household web app (in Polish).

What it is

Energy Compass combines dynamic prices, the PV production forecast and household consumption, then works out a battery and inverter plan for the hours ahead. By default it only advises; an optional controller for Deye inverters can carry the plan out. The energycompass.pl app compares tariffs and supplier offers against a household's own consumption.

Who it is for

For homes with solar panels, a battery or a dynamic tariff — Home Assistant users, and anyone who wants to check whether they overpay for electricity.

What it proves

  • Runs live. The integration works every day in a co-founder's home, on a real installation and real prices.
  • Open source. The code and the guide are public — anyone can check how the plan is calculated.
  • From data to decisions. Fetching prices and forecasts, optimisation and a clear result for the household — the same chain we build for companies.
